Come join one of Connecticut’s Top Workplaces, and a Magnet designated organization! At Middlesex Health, we have a unique combination of award-winning talent, world-class technology, and patient-first care that's making health care better. Through our affiliation with the Mayo Clinic Care Network, Middlesex Health has access to the most advanced medical knowledge and research available.

The Middlesex Health Beit Paley Center for Mental Health is currently accepting applications for a postdoctoral fellowship position. This is a one-year, full-time position with two tracks: 20 hours/week in the child and adolescent clinic, and 20 hours/week in the adult clinic. Both settings are outpatient, community mental health clinics with diverse clientele.

The primary job responsibility is providing individual, group, and family therapy; secondary responsibilities include psychological testing and supervision of doctoral-level psychology practicum students. Interdisciplinary staff meetings and consultation occur on a regular basis, as well as collaboration with other community providers.

Additional opportunities include psychotherapy and assessment within the hospital’s Transgender Medicine Program (i.e., transgender/gender non-conforming individuals) and day treatment program (i.e., PHP/IOP, dual diagnosis track, geriatric track). In addition, opportunities to receive training and experience with bariatric evaluations and ADOS-2 diagnostic evaluations also exist. In-service hospital trainings occur on a weekly and monthly basis, with participation strongly encouraged. Supervision is commensurate with the licensing requirements of the state of Connecticut.

Minimum requirements:

  • Graduate of an APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or school psychology.
  • Demonstrates ability to work with patients (adults, adolescents, children) in individual, group, and family settings.
  • Demonstrates ability to select, conduct, score and interpret a variety of psychological assessment measures.
